Unifier System Changes:

  • Jan 26, 2016 - Bidding Documents - Minor form updates- remove references to old printing services vendor.
  • Jan 11, 2016 - Pay Apps - Add check date field as a search filter on Master Logs.  Hide deprecated Project Phase field on all forms.
  • Jan 4, 2016 - Invoice - Project Specific & Invoice - Design Services (NC) - Minor form change.  Added auto-generated unique "Vendor Invoice #" field, the same field used on PayApps form, so there is consistency across payment BP's, and to ensure the number sent to AP is unique to avoid suspended invoice issues.  
  • Nov 6, 2015 - Pay Apps - Minor view form fixed on 2nd contractor revision step (incorrect form was referenced).  User impact minimal.
  • Sept, 2015 - Project Initation - Records will be auto-created from FAMIS triggers when a status changes to Design.  Removed estimate path from workflow.  Made the process shorter, and implemented FME interface to copy some FAMIS fields into project initiation record to reduce duplicate entry.
  • Aug 20, 2015 - Contract Request BP - Added required Consultant Level of Service dropdown field to form.  First record will require it, then reverse populate to Project Information.  Subsequent records will auto-populate this value from Project Information.  This is to help ensure routing on workflows is accurate involving Designer of Record and Lead Designer roles.
  • Aug 10, 2015 - BOT Step 2 and 3 form changes.  Removed fields from form.  Enabled record editor so records will match published resolutions.
  • Aug 7, 2015 - BOT Step 1 form changes.  Removed fields from form.  Enabled record editor so records will match published resolutions.
  • July 28, 2015 – Bidding Documents  – ICM Bid Set and ICM Addenda – adjusted main office personnel assigned for consensus review.  Added main office manager as a CC recipient to the ICM Bid Set after during management review. 
  • July 2, 2015 - Unifier Platform Upgraded from version 9.9.3 (Win) to 15.1.2 (Linux).  Enhancements include extended browser compatbility (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and other major interface changes.
  • June 15, 2015- Update Project Initiation custom Land Management workflow.  Remove Contract Administrator step.  Update forms.  Allow EAS Administrative Office to create records when  a new project request is received by Land Management Office.  
  • May 13, 2015 - Allow EAS Main Office manager to create deductive Change Management records to zero out PO's after final payment.  Add duration of 3 days to buy-out change orders for Project Administrator process step at the end.
  • Mar 31, 2015 - Bidding Documents rolled out to all projects.
  • Mar 13, 2015 - Add CC to Lead Designer on Buy Out Change Management records when record is sent to the Project Rep. 
  • Mar 12, 2015 - Bidding Document Business process pilots updated with new Addenda workflows.
  • Mar 9, 2015 -New business processes for Design Services vendors on non-major projects activated.  Costs for this activity will not appear as actuals on Unifier/FAMIS cost sheets.  Contracting, and Contract Request were updated to enable this functionality.  PO-Construction Contract and PO-Project Specific processes were also modified.
  • Feb 18, 2015 - New Bid Results non-workflow business process created to store bid participation data.  Pilot project: CP12378
  • Jan 27-30, 2015 - Contractor Change Management workflow update (add revision path from Lead Designer to creator).  Form updates to Project Information.  Clean up data fields no longer used, add 2 new multi-select fields (Funding and Project Category), and an Administrative Note for reporting needs. 
  • Dec 11, 2014 - Additional vendor instructions on the PO and Change Order forms in Unifier added about not mixing budget codes when creating/modifying SOV lines.  EAS Reps/Auditors reviewing change orders and PO tasks should check the detail tab/SOV to ensure all budget codes match. 
  • Dec 3, 2014 - Integration interface (FME) added to update Building List in Unifier from FAMIS data source.  New "Entity Type" field added to form for find and filter capabilities.
  • Nov 21, 2014 - Cost Sheet column updated to include Change Orders with new "Authorized" status, from the new Change Management workflows rolled out in August.  Impacts "Forecasted PO Balance" column.  
  • Nov 12, 2014 - Net zero Contractor Change Management records are now routed down the shorter deductive approval path.
  • Nov 6, 2014 - Internal "Project Rating by Customer Scorecard" Business Process activated for storing customer feedback on capital projects.  Used by CP&A.  Also updated PO selection verbiage on Contract Request form for managers selecting PO types.
  • Nov 4, 2014 - Add "PO Reconciliation Note" on PO-Construction Contract form for Project Administrators to track PO memo across various systems.  Enable new Project Rating by Customer scorecard Business Process for internal use only.  
  • Oct 6, 2014 - Add CC preassigned to Lead Designer and Project Rep when Contract Request and Contracting business processes close.  Assignees just before the end step can also manually add additional CC recipients from the EAS Team.  
  • Sept 22, 2014 - Removed the option to select Blanket PO from Contract Request.  Updated Project Initiation so that EAS Director can fill in Project Details before the Design Administrator role (which can also edit these fields).  
  • Sept 9, 2014 - Added "Budget Code" pulldown required field to Contract Request, Contracting, PO-Construction Contract, and PO - Project Specific BP's.  "PO Setup Note" is no longer a required field on these forms.  A single budget code should be used per PO.  Additional maintenance was performed to optimize auto-creation on the Contracting and PO-Construction Contract processes from the Contract Request BP.  
  • August 29, 2014 - Activated custom PO - Project Specific, Invoice - Project Specific, and CO - Project Specific workflows for all projects, allowing Capital Imaging to invoice in Unifier.
  • August 29, 2014 - Removed calculated fields/weights from Scorecards.

  • May 8, 2014 - New Construction Waste Management workflow activated for all projects.  Designer of Record review step removed.  Set auto-creation of record to occur only for final payment.
  • Mar 19, 2014 - Activated custom Project Specific PO and Invoice workflows for piloting to allow Capital Imaging to invoice in Unifier.  Pilot projects include CP09206 (PO), CP13341 (MINOR), CP12378 (MAJOR).
  • Mar 7, 2014Pay Apps - Added form validation to require detail lines upon creation, so records must have line items added at the i-step.
  • Feb 11, 2014 - Contracting - Step for CPA Student upload of documents into Unifier added.
  • Feb 5, 2014- Pay Apps business process workflow updates made.  
  • January 9, 2014 - Allow Project Administrators to create Change Order records.  Disable attachments to line items in Change Management.
  • January 1, 2014 - Effective this calendar year- the default budgeting tool for capital projects is the Unifier Cost Sheet.  For instructions on accessing this see: https://unify.gis.msu.edu/cms/?q=cost_sheet.  What's changed: Change Requests no longer need to be entered or linked in FAMIS.  Pending costs will not be available in FAMIS.  Use Unifier's cost sheet to see pending costs, and stop using the CP Budget Report in FAMIS.  Use the Potential Costs BP (https://unify.gis.msu.edu/cms/?q=potential_costs) to adjust balances on lines as forecasted.  What's the same: Change Orders still need to be entered into FAMIS.  All costs will still be reflected in FAMIS (direct charges, invoices, etc).  FAMIS work order costs are fed into Unifier each night, available on the FAMIS WO and Misc Costs BP.  
  • November 17, 2013 - Pay Apps pilot initiatied on CP13007, CP11243, and CP10181.  The form changes apply to all projects- the main difference being that the Insurance picker field is now required.  Unfiier AutoVue was also upgraded to resolve Unifier Viewer pop-up errors.  Insurance form was also modified to remove the Coverage Through data fields.
  • November 13, 2013 - Unifier upgraded to version 9.9.3 HF16.  If you experience a client/server error when viewing documents, set your viewer preferences to Native.
  • November 1, 2013 - Left Navigational menu under all projects modified.  "Logs" folder renamed "Business Processes" with fewer sub-folders, and an alphabetical list of Business Processes for easier navigation.  Commonly used project level icons (e.g. Cost Sheet, Documents, Reports) appear closer to the top of navigational menu.  Click here to see the new menu layout.
  • November 1, 2013 - Cost Sheet rollout to active projects completed.
  • October 28, 2013 -  Submittals - Allow Project Reps and Designer of Record to CC Plan Review members at their steps when sending tasks.
  • Internet Explorer 10 & 11 Users - To ensure you can send and view tasks in Unifier, turn on compatibility mode
